RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) process is initiated through an online diagnostic assessment. This is conducted per individual and is based on the individual’s CV, supporting documents and brief resume of prior and current experience.
The individual will complete an application form indicating which qualification or unit standard they would like to be considered for RPL.
On receipt of the application and proof of payment, we will complete the diagnostic assessment within two working days. The individual will receive a detailed RPL diagnostic report detailing the areas in which RPL will be awarded and where the training gaps are.
The RPL process moves into phase two – where the delegate is registered onto the online RPL platform. It is here that the delegate will begin the collection and submission of evidence to support the RPL findings. The online system is live for three months and allows for online RPL support, assessment and moderation.
After the three months – the delegate’s RPL process is closed and the results are submitted to the relevant SETA for external moderation and certification.
Note: Each SETA has different turnaround times in terms of processing the external moderation and certification.
